This year Hotels & Preference Hualing Tbilisi once again hosted the Golden Brand awards ceremony, often referred to as “the Oscars of the business world”.
“I have observed year after year how the event goes through a great transformation, and can rightly be called the ‘most desired event of the year’. We are very happy to be involved in this transformation as a host, as for a business category hotel it is a very significant event,” said the General Manager of the hotel, Petter Lillvik.
Last year Hotels & Preference Hualing Tbilisi hosted more than 200 large scale events.

Could you please tell us what the future plans are of Hotels & Preference Hualing Tbilisi?
The management company Hotels & Preference is expanding, so our group is now within one of the biggest French Hotel groups – Louvre Hotels.
As for the growth in Georgia, of course we see huge potential in the market and are looking forward to new projects together with Hualing Group.
Hotels & Preference Hualing Tbilisi was ranked an 8.6 guest review score on Booking.com. In your opinion what are the best things about the hotel that your guests love so much? How do you achieve such a high guest satisfaction index?
We are proud to be among the highest ranked 5-star hotels in Tbilisi. This is of course down to the joint efforts of the entire team of our hotel.
We have one important principle: “Happy employee = Happy guests”, so in my opinion this is a fundamental rule for us.
The hotel has so much to offer guests, starting from the amazing surrounding landscape and freshest of air, great facilities which are highly enjoyed by our guests, and of course our restaurants.
We do not stop at just standard facilities, so we are always working on different promotions, special offers and activities as all of these things help us to stand out.
A very important memorandum was signed between Hotels & Preference Hualing Tbilisi and the Ministry of Defence of Georgia about providing free services to wounded and injured soldiers. Please tell us more about this memorandum and about the initiative. Why has this issue (caring for wounded or injured servicemen) become important to you?
Every big company has a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda towards the area, place, and people the company operates in and among.
For our hotel, CSR is very important and this Memorandum is already in its third year.
We started cooperating with the Ministry of Defence of Georgia in this direction in 2017, and every year the number of people involved in it has been increasing.
The main goal of this project is to give the opportunity for injured soldiers to have a proper place where they can train; can use our recreational facilities, such as the pool; and use the gym, where we have a low resistant machine – Kenesis, which is specially designed for recuperative activities.
Hotels & Preference Hualing Tbilisi runs environmentally-friendly activities – one of them being about paper straws. What others have there been? How important is it for you to offer eco-friendly products to guests? Also, what does the hotel do for the purpose of greening its surrounding areas?
We are considered the most eco-friendly hotel in Georgia. We were the first to have rejected the use of plastic objects in the hotel and replaced them with organic equivalents.
We are supporting and using the system of sorting secondary waste and we think this is one of the main sources of keeping the environment ecologically clean. The hotel’s air conditioning system has a unique function of saving energy, as well as our swimming pool’s filtration system (the only one of its kind in Georgia), which gives us the opportunity to save on water consumption. Our hotel is willing to do what’s necessary to maintain the name of the most eco-friendly hotel, and we will achieve that with our steps towards making our surroundings cleaner and our lives healthier.
Our owner company Hualing Group is supporting us in this regard by opening a recreational park in front of the hotel with green trees, a lavender field and water ponds.
How many guests did the hotel host in 2018? Was this number an increase or decrease from the year before?
The year 2018 was overall a very successful year for Georgia and as everyone knows, the number of international guests’ arrivals increased dramatically in 2018, which of course led to good business at our hotel with an increase compared to previous years.
